NETFI has participated in EU and national R&D projects, delivering practical solutions in digital transformation, trusted connectivity, security, interoperability, and energy efficiency.
- Life 2.0 (2010–2013) – Design of a web-based system to facilitate the elderly people to lead independent lives and socialize with each other based on geographical positioning.
- ΗIPOW – Protection of Infrastructures against High Power Microwave Threats (2012–2016) – Contributed to research on protecting critical infrastructures against electromagnetic radiation threats (EMP/HPM), supporting improved resilience and protection approaches.
- ISTEP – Inter System Interoperability for TETRA–TETRAPOL Networks (2013–2017) – Developed software tools that support interoperability for PPDR (Public Protection and Disaster Relief) organizations, enabling more effective cross-network cooperation.
- InDeal – Innovative Technology for District Heating and Cooling (2016–2019) – Developed a web-based central monitoring and control platform for district heating and cooling networks, including AI-supported functions to improve efficiency.
- S3SF – Smart Energy Solutions for a Sustainable Future (2023–2025, Erasmus+) – Providing input to transnational training curriculum and digital platform to support the goals of safe and smart societies, marketing smart energy skills and digital proficiency. The training is on energy efficiency, user centric systems and digital/entrepreneurial skills.
